Anthony Carnevale, senior vice president and group publisher of Northstar Travel Group's Retail Travel Group, which includes Travel Weekly, TravelAge West and Travel Pulse, will join the Avis Budget Group as vice president of commercial accounts and midmarket, as of Aug. 4.

At the same time, Mary Pat Sullivan, currently executive vice president of marketing for the retail group, will move into the newly created position of executive vice president of marketing and partnerships for Northstar. In this capacity, she will contribute to the strategic direction of the Retail Travel Group and lead its sales team, as well as develop the company's marketing initiatives and build partnerships with its audience and suppliers.

Carnevale has been with Northstar for 12 years; before taking his current position in 2019, he was the publisher of Northstar's BTN Group.

Bob Sullivan, Northstar's president and chief commercial officer, thanked Carnevale for his contributions and commitment to Northstar. "From elevating the BTN brand to navigating the challenges of Covid to leading our entire Retail Group through the integration of the TravelPulse portfolio and the expansion of our presence in the market, he has played a crucial role in the company's growth," he said. "We wish him success in his next chapter at Avis Budget Group."

Mary Pat Sullivan joined Northstar as a senior vice president of marketing for the Retail Travel Group in 2021; prior to that, she was a consultant to Northstar and helped lead webinars and other strategic initiatives, and she has long been an onstage presence at many of Travel Weekly's events, such as CruiseWorld and Global Travel Marketplace.

"For more than two decades, I have worked or consulted for these brands, and in my current role, I am involved in the day-to-day operations of the Retail Travel Group, so this is a natural progression for our team and continues my work within the industry to strengthen and evolve the Northstar portfolio," Mary Pat Sullivan said.

"I look forward to executing the initiatives and strategies Anthony and our entire leadership team have developed."
