KHM Travel Group (No. 33 on Travel Weekly's 2022 Power List) has formed an advisory committee to address diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I).
The host agency's DE&I Advisory Committee is comprised of travel advisors with personal and professional experience in various aspects of DE&I, KHM said. The committee will advise KHM's corporate team.
Additionally, KHM has launched a monthly DE&I newsletter sent to all member agents.
Its weekly live talk show, "KHM Today," will now have a regular monthly segment, "Expanding the Lens," focusing on DE&I-related topics. Already, the show has covered accessible travel, LGBTQ+ travel and sobriety and recovery while traveling.
Monthly company meetings now feature the "DE&I Minute," when corporate team members hear from their colleagues on DE&I-related topics like inclusive language and resources.
KHM soon will launch a DE&I Resource Guide for members. It will include links and suggestions to meet the unique needs of clients as well as resources like professional organizations, supplier marketing, certifications, and internal marketing.
"As a host agency, KHM Travel Group knows that being thoughtful about DE&I can have a major impact on small businesses, especially with client relationships," KHM said in a release. "Marketing to a diverse client base allows for deeper connections with existing clients and attracting new business to take independent agents to the next level."
