Progenitor of the boutique hotel concept upon its 1981 founding, Kimpton Hotels operates more than 60 hotels and 80 restaurants, bars and lounges across the U.S., Europe, Caribbean and Greater China. InterContinental Hotels Group acquired the brand in 2015, accelerating Kimpton’s expansion in recent years. The brand debuted in the U.K. with the opening of Kimpton Fitzroy London earlier this year, with plans to open additional U.K. outposts in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Scotland, and Manchester, England. Other upcoming openings include Barcelona, set to open in 2019; Tokyo and Paris, both scheduled to open in 2020; and Frankfurt, due to open in 2023.
