Progenitor of the boutique hotel concept upon its 1981 founding, Kimpton Hotels operates nearly 70 hotels and 80 restaurants, bars and lounges across the U.S., Europe, the Caribbean and Asia. InterContinental Hotels Group acquired the brand in 2015, accelerating Kimpton's expansion in recent years. Most recently, the brand unveiled plans for the Kimpton Key West, which is set to open early next year and will be Kimpton's sixth property in the Sunshine State and its first in the Florida Keys.
