The former Marriott Cancun Resort will reopen as an all-inclusive early next year, which will make it the first Marriott Hotels-branded property in Marriott International's All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio.
Set to relaunch as the Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, the oceanfront property is currently accepting reservations for stays starting March 22. The property had previously operated as the Marriott Cancun Resort until this past March, when it closed for renovation.
The 450-room resort will offer guests nine restaurants, including signature options like the Tulum-inspired Sacbe Beach Shack, Mo's Burgers & Shakes and the Hana Polynesian Grill, which will also serve up Tiki-style cocktails.
The property will also debut a signature Marriott Hotels All-Inclusive Resorts lobby concept called The Greatroom. Designed to be a social hub, the indoor-outdoor Greatroom area at the Marriott Cancun will be home to the Greatroom Lobby Bar.
The property also promises access to water features like a lazy river and waterslides as well as a variety of hands-on classes, nightly entertainment and "pop-up experiences."
Additional Marriott Hotels All-Inclusive Resorts are in the pipeline, with Marriott planning to open the Marriott Puerto Vallarta, An All-Inclusive Resort and the Marriott Djerba, An All-Inclusive Resort -- Tunisia within the next two years.
These expansion efforts come as Marriott International aggressively grows its All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy stable, which now comprises approximately 30 all-inclusive properties.
