The lead ship in a class that also includes the Bellissima, the French-built, 171,000-gross-ton Meraviglia entered service in June 2017. It was the first to have a theater specially outfitted for Cirque du Soleil shows. It sailed in Europe initially but arrived in New York in the fall of 2019 and is scheduled to sail to the Caribbean this winter as part of a North American expansion program by MSC.
