The rollercoaster is themed to the "Tron" film franchise. The original film, "Tron," was released in 1982, with a sequel, "Tron: Legacy," released in 2010. The story of the coaster picks up where the sequel left off.
"Guests will feel as if they've been digitized and transported into the Grid for a special Lightcycle race," Disney said. "It's Team Blue against the Grid's menacing Programs, Team Orange. The goal is to be the first to race through eight Energy Gates and secure victory."
The ride vehicles are fashioned to look like Lightcycles, motorcycles that are seen in the films.

Riders "enter" the Grid via a second gateway, opened by the character Sam Flynn. The first portal he created can be found in Shanghai Disneyland and its Tron Lightcycle Power Run attraction.
Cast member previews will be held in advance of the April 4 opening, as will previews for Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members.
