For the first time in the eight-year history of the Travel Weekly Preview issue, the CEOs interviewed were boldly, confidently and unanimously optimistic. There were, of course, the usual provisos about the possibility that "unforeseen incidents" could throw the industry off stride, but in the view from the corner office, there doesn't seem to be a cloud in sight.
Executives from six sectors of the travel industry talked about
their assumptions and plans for the year ahead: Sebastien Bazin of AccorHotels, Ninan Chacko of Travel Leaders Group, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo of Celebrity Cruises, Mexico secretary of tourism Enrique de la Madrid, Mark Okerstrom of Expedia Inc. and Dan Sullivan of Collette.
