With the launch of its 930-passenger Viking Star in 2015, Viking expanded its successful river cruise brand to deep water cruising. It has since added the nearly identical ships Viking Sea, Sky and Sun and the Viking Orion, with the Viking Jupiter scheduled to arrive in 2019 and additional ships in the design/build pipeline. Brand hallmarks include modern Scandinavian design, free WiFi, beer and wine included with lunch and dinner, at least one shore excursion in every port and an emphasis on destinations. Viking is targeted at couples age 55-plus in English-speaking markets.
